On Sunday I headed to the Noosa farmers markets and got some really yummy produce. I got it home and layed it all out and thought to myself..'wow.. there is no real reason why I can't have a purely vegetarian week'.... sooo this is it kids! I know a week isn't that hard but i want to really focus on cooking some delish and inventive meals that will keep both Simon and myself interested. How can you not be interested when your plate looks like an edible rainbow! Check out my clean up from the markets...
I know! I know! you may be thinking... whats with the chocolate?? well there is this amazing local chocolatier.... freshly made marshmellow for rocky road? Macadamia nut brittle and fresh licorice chocolate bullets? who could resist???
This stromboli bread is YUM! Its a total mouth-gasm. I love the ingredients list. The added love definately helps.
Soooooo my new mystery fruit that i picked up (well its obviously no mystery but i've never brought it before or cooked with it).... drum roll....
Pomegranate
How beautiful is it??? The little jewels/seeds (really called 'arils') are delish. I never realised that this is what grenadine is made from. Ive clearly been living under a rock. Pomegranate is an ancient fruit that many cultures and religions have many different purposes and beliefs for. Checking out recipes and the nitty gritty of this fruit is really interesting. who would have thought???
Does anyone have any beautiful pom pom recipes out there??
I made a delish breakfast frozen banana and avocado smoothie with tinned peach and a scoop of Amazing grass superfood to boost it. Yum! its pretty green colour and uummm... interesting? looking to say the least.
Hhaahha i know. It looks terrible. Try making it just with the avo and banana (ive blogged about them before)- YUM!
What a crazy morning it has been! I woke up all excited that it was Saturday and I could sleep in... but then I was so excited i couldn't sleep! ha. whoops. None the less i've done a mad dash to the shops to make a bacon butty. (Fresh hot bread rolls, bacon) Yum! Watched some mind numbing Disney cartoons and some RAGE. Rather therapeutic and perfect for my dossy Saturday morning.
I have stumbled across this awesome online shop. I definately want NEED to share this with you. Check out the awesome things you can get! These items certainly tickled my fancy!!
Well i'm back after heading off into the bush for a Doofing adventure. The van of dreams certainly paid for itself as we woke up on the final day to pouring rain and strong winds. We lost a tarp pole in the winds but the van didn't blow away and I was snuggly and warm for the entire weekend. It is such a treat to hang out with amazing people, dance up a storm and peruse the market stalls. Most of the food stalls that are there also are vegan or vegetarian and really gets your inspiration going for ditching meat. I had a DELISH coconut hot chocolate. It was made on rice milk and coconut milk and a bit of raw cacao... over the next couple of weeks im going to endeavour to recreate the recipe. Soooo YUM!
Here are some pics from the weekend....

My Favourite.
Such a great weekend had by all. Camp fires, random stories, and great friends. Can't wait for the next one! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
This Friday is the debut of the 'Van of dreams'. When i say van of dreams i use those terms loosely- if it was infact a 'van of dreams' it would probably be half hover craft, half van look-alike 'meet the fockers'.
Simon and I are heading off to The Southern Oracle Festival. Its an amazing gathering of fantastic people in a beautiful outdoor setting. Really funky DJ's, visual artists and street performers (oooooo and great markets!!!).
Last year it was record temperatures of -6 degrees..... eeep! freezing. Simon and I had a tent last year and were totally unprepared for the plummeting temperatures- having to resort to a {rats} 'nest-like' strategy to keep ourselves warm in the tent. Waking up and breathing out visible condensation was very unpleasant. I do vividly remember Simon's first sentence out of his frost biten mouth from the first night was .."FUCK THIS! LETS GO HOME!". We stuck the weekend out and danced ourselves warm!!
Here are some photos of the doof from the years gone by.

Looks good huh??
Other email inbox goodies was a craft swap reminder from Kelsey @ Artichoke designs. I've been assigned a partner and can't wait to get crafting for Zara. Co-in-ci-dink that we are both nurses! cool!
Ive got the sewing machine out madly making curtains for the 'van of dreams' before tomorrow night! Wish me luck. Happy Hump day lovelies!
I love listening to all genres of music- okay most genres- RnB and I aren't as good of friends. Sometimes when I have my chill out play list on and I have a mind full of thoughts i like to jot them down. I find this is reflective a few months down the track to see if i've achieved anything or moved on from that frame of mind. I try to date them as a reminder to myself. I thought i'd share some of my mind diarrohea with you. The first one of my doodles dates back to 2009.
After a fight with my boyfriend...
So of course some of them are quotes, things that interest me and funny things I see around the place. But i love that when i see something inspirational or funny i can leave it in my book and flick through it and have a little chuckle to myself at a later date. I suppose this is like my visual diary. My last image is my current aims of things i'd like to achieve. I think its fun, and puts my mind at ease. It gives me direction when my head is cloudy.
What things do you like to do to clear your head space??
I hope you have a great weekend. Im spending the weekend at my sisters with my Mum who's visiting. Sanchez has come along for the ride. Im hoping to also finish up my sisters spare space that I started decorating about a month ago. Slack I know.
This weekend was a bit eclectic starting off with a frechy crepes Saturday, lye ins which were interupted only be Sanchez's pee breaks and me heading off to work.
Simons turn at taking Sanchez out! Nice dressing gown!
Farmers markets on Sunday were amazing! I have this gorgeous bakery lady who has a stall of hand made preservative free bread! I picked the garlic and cheese bread this Sunday and it was delish! The free range eggs and other produce was such a hit for a late brunch. The smells at farmers markets definately awake the senses! I think it may be my new ritual.
Winter is on its way here in the Sunshine coast- This morning I had a little furry bundle shivering at my bedside. Lucky for the pooch i'd pulled his wollen coat out with my Winter warmers!

Wow... im so suprised at how much im missing doing crafty things. I think i got my mojo back recently for photography im really missing the ability to hold a camera etc. I have alot of sewing projects that I want to get stuck into. Im glad i can surf the net with one hand. Typing is just slow. I miss the ability to manipulate colour into pieces that make me smile. This is an ode to you.
By day you'll find me hustling around a busy hospital Emergency Department, by night you'll find me immersed in flowing fabrics, delish recipes & interior design delights. I have particular interest in Ecologically sustainable items from buildings right through to fashion. This is my space in which I want to share these beautiful things. Welcome.
