Captains log: Tuesday

On Tuesday we braved the cool windy rain weather to hit 'Lavendula'- Lavender Farm at Hepburn Springs. So amazing and to be honest the weather made it that much more dreamy. We all cuddled into our warm pots of tea and enjoyed our lavender scones with lashings of jam and cream out on the cottage verandah. Perfect end to a delightful morning.

Captain's log: Monday

So our Daylesford adventure was just that...an adventure- eating our way through the food lovers guide to Victoria, soaking up the beautiful surroundings, and enjoying the best invite only company!

The place we chose to lay our heads was 'The Lark House'. This house eye candy delight dates back to the 1860's. It has been lovingly introduced to the millenium with all the latest mod cons- iPod docks, flat screen televisions, etc, and suprisingly plumped up with a modern vintage style decor. Well, actually its not too suprising when you see owners Paul & Allison's 'Lark' shop.

It was fun to see everyones reactions when we arrived to the house. Everyone exploring- treasure hunting to out do each others discoveries as we went room to room. Lets say we definately all unleashed our Retro Nana.

The sum of all the parts you have taken, are a fraction of the parts that make me whole

Such a beautiful little lyric in the song~ Joe Goddard feat Valentina Gabriel. I like those little gems.

Travelling gypsy- Prologue

My inner gypsy has taken over of late, I haven't been able to sit with my laptop long enough to capture the happenings on a page. Alas, I am now enjoying my decandant mini get-away so I have nothing but time on my hands to drink wine and fall over my laptop.

Last Saturday morning Simon & I excitedly were dropped off at the airport to begin our week long Victorian adventure- where we were greeted with Queenslands capital city domestic airport being closed due to bad weather. The weather may have been damp but our spirits were not.

Such a bleak start to the holiday but in all honesty Simon & I have a bit of a rubbish track record with holiday beginnings- but I was delighted to be stuck on the ground in a dry airport with ample trashy magazines, booze and people waching to be had vs. In the sky, hectic turbulance, cramped space with 100 other crazy's freaking out about crashing into the ocean- heck that would have been on my mind!!

This mini get away was inspired a few months ago. The brain child of my pen pal and I realising the lack of down time to really catch up with close friends.

The 6 of us were all planning to arrive at staggered times during Saturday in Melbourne- although due to the weather conditions one friend had been redirected to another city and her 3 hour journey manifested into 6 hours.. eep! The remaining five of us ended up landing around the same time suprisingly catching up with each other early. Such a nice suprise ~ it wasn't all clouds and rain.

I was really excited to visit Melbourne a) because i have never been there before b) it had recently pipped Vancouver at the post been voted the most livable city in the world, and I wanted to sink my teeth into that title c) oh! and the shopping oh! the shopping.

Watch this space for the captains log of happenings.

Weekends are for friends

I love having visitors over. Time to explore the local treats on offer and who better to share you're spoils with??

Our close friends recently did a mini trip to see us a 6 hour round trip for a couple of days. First stop... Le Monde Cafe for cocktails! oh happy hour....

The end results im afraid...

Cute little nook for boozy nights

The boys enjoying a lurrverly cocktail or 3?

Having a friend who is a DJ also comes in handy for reving up the night. Although it seemed to be sponsored by Mac?

Although I must admit the Saturday frivolities of sangria and card games made for a nice afternoon of giggles.

What did your weekend hold?? Happy Monday lovelies!

Wish lists

All this talk of renovating reality television shows has really got my cogs turning. My urge and drive to find my perfect digs is now becoming unbearingly painful. I see so many beautiful things out and about during the day, and living in a tiny unit has definately snuffed out my urge to buy any new homeware pieces. In saying all this- it has not stopped my eyes from sifting through the internet for items that quite frankly make me weak at the knees. I think this will be some of my wish list.

These chicks Camilla and Olivia are the masterminds behind MOZI

Where to start on their deliciousness of the fabrics? Quirky designs? Posh practicality?

I'll share my favourite practical MOZI product which is the shower cap range. Eat your heart out to any other shower cap I have owned. This deluxe cap is super cute but made with such quality elastic there are no chances of sneaky water creeping its way inside your dry locks. (I know its crazy I could talk up a shower cap!).

Cute right?

My family got decked out with MOZI stuff for Christmas last year. The cool thing about these products are that the price points allow for any budget.

Mumsy dear looked amazing in her apron with matching oven mit over Christmas!
Anywho.... back to my wish list

I love making my guests room a true home away from home. I love the welcome feeling of beautiful linen and heavenly bedspreads. Comfort lighting and bath products to soak away the tired travelling legs makes me smile.

What do you like to do for your guests? I love a cocktail night and tapas! Easy and will definately please!
